Dear friends of Starter Cultures,
We are what we practice.
What we practice models and drives how we be, become, and belong.
We’d like to invite you to two new learning and practicing spaces in our mycelial network.
Pathways To Source, hosted by Benjamin Carr and Teresa Hart
Each of us can build a relationship with our Source—the place where we feel alive and in flow, where we feel like ourselves, where we are connected with our power, purpose and love, where we feel at home in the Universe.
Pathways to Source is a practice space for returning home to ourselves and to life.
It is a space for expanding our capacity to maintain contact with whatever is here.
It is a space for exploring what unfolds and sharing what we find.
It is a call to a way of living that nourishes us and the life around us.
It is a space to choose to embed in our practice and reclaim our connection with Source.
If you feel called to join this bi-weekly space, you can read more and sign up here.
2. Relational Agility, facilitated by James Baker and Carol Xu
If you are interested in applying the relational approaches (such as T-group, Circling, and Internal Family Systems) to your work context, navigate high-stake tensions, and cultivate generative relationships at work, check out this course on Relational Agility. It will be facilitated by James Baker (from Intentional Society) and Carol Xu (from Communication Dojo), who are passionate about introducing relational skills to organizations and communities worldwide. Before you make a commitment and sign up for the course, you have the option of attending an information session (on Oct 10 or Dec 6) to gauge whether the course is a good fit for you. We hope you can join the larger movement of humanizing the modern workplace!
A Story of Us
What’s Possible When We Surface Emotions At Work?
Conventional belief: If we allow colleagues to share negative or personal emotions at work, it will derail the work. We’d be talking about our feelings all day and get nothing done.
Yes, that is possible. But what else is possible? I’d like to share a personal anecdote to fuel our collective imagination around this topic.
It was August 2020, our 5th month of shelter-in-place when I found myself in a homework screaming match with my 8-yr-old. He was in his first week of distance learning at school. We need to turn in homework before 5pm everyday. On that day, I have back-to-back meetings on Zoom. I only have 30 minutes to help him…
